The Last Supper Painting

In the Last Supper Painting, Jesus is in the painting with other people with wine and bread on the table.  Leonardo da Vinci painted it in the early 15th century, and the original painting is held in a church in Milan, Italy. The painting was painted on drywall and has deteriorated over the years. Some figures in the painting are not even recognizable anymore. The damage to the painting was tremendous and they went through a lot just to try and fix it. The restoration process took about 21 years to fix entirely. Most of the damage was caused by dirt, and pollution. The painting is believed to be Jesus and his 12 apostles. The problem was one of them had to be missing for Mary. Also the stories of the Holy Grail relate to this painting. The movie National Treasure, they use this painting and many other source full old important documents to figure out the Holy Grails code. The painting is very religious and believed to be very important to the Christian community. Jesus has a cup near him which is believed to be wine because Jesus had the power to turn water to wine and crumbs to loafs of bread. There is also rumor that the reason Leonardo da Vinci painted this picture was a gift to a duke, Duke Lodovico Sforza. Mathew 26 is also somehow tied in with this masterpiece, and he is basically frightening his disciples by telling them not to betray him.

Persuasive Orbit White Ad

Have you ever noticed the Orbit White ads and how they promote their gum? They have a girl in an all white suit saying, "Dirty mouth clean it up with Orbit White". The ads vary on how they sell the gum and the dirty mouth varies as well. I have seen one where a guy gets dirt thrown in his mouth, then he chews Orbit White and his teeth are all white. We all know that is fake, there is no way to chew dirt and have a totally clean mouth. There is an ad with two skeletons buried in the ground and the one obviously chews Orbit White because the teeth were white, and the other was just yellow like the rest of the rotted body. There is also another television ad where there is a family and they all are trying to curse and the girl says, "Dirty mouth clean it up with Orbit White". The girl in the commercial ads on television is always wearing a white cloak like a nurse and then there is a male standing beside her in a few of them. I think these ads are very catchy to the eye, especially when they have someone chewing their gum and she has to put sunglasses on because her smile is so bright. This is a catchy way to get a person to buy their product, but the fact is the consumer obviously knows they are exaggerations and not real life. If a person thought that if you chewed Orbit White and you smiled that other people needed sunglasses they are not very smart. This can be promoted as false advertisement but the buyer of the product should not always fall for what they see in commercial ads on television, magazines, and any other type of media that gets their product out there.

Why I chose Wright State!

I chose Wright State for one because it was cheaper than the private school in North Carolina that I wanted to attend. Second I chose it because it is a nice location and the housing is very nice. I wanted to attend Methodist University in North Carolina to take up PGM (Pro Golf Management). The only thing that kept me out was money and the 10 hours away from home. My house is three hours from Wright State and makes it convenient to make quick trips home if I need to. Wright State to me seemed like an excellent choice, I plan on getting my management degree and then attending Methodist University as a grad student to go for PGM. Back to Wright State though, I figured it would be a good fit being close to home and the fact that I knew some people going here from my high school. I just feel like it is a good fit for me, and the people I have met are mostly from Ohio, so we have a lot in common. Me and by neighbor have the most in common and we have pretty much become best friends and do everything together. The fact is, I just felt it was the best place for me to spend my years, close to home, and where I would at least know a few people here. I am happy with my choice here at Wright State and can not wait for the years to come and grow on.

Favorite Song

The song I am writing about today is called Hanging by a Moment by Litehouse. This song is more of a love song which I tend not to listen to, but in this case it is describing chasing the one you love. To me this song represent the heart and fight a person should put toward the one you are chasing after and or want in your life. This song is special to me in the sense it was my ex's and my favorite song to listen to together. It made our relationship stronger and kept us together for a really long time. The purpose of this song is showing affection toward the one you love and want in your life. This song is targeted to people more around my age or anyone looking for a relationship. Also can target people already in relationships or even married couples. This music can be classified as romantic and even sounds like classic rock. This song is one of the most inspiring ways to chase the girl of your dreams and not be afraid to go after her. To me it shows that you can be confident in talking to a girl after you listen to the song. It is played through the radio, even though it hasn't been played in a long time, but also on i pods. The song itself is heartwarming and shows that if you say the right thing you might just impress the girl you like. This song has taught me to go after the ones I love and want to be in my life and I hope everyone has listened to it or will listen to it.

College Life

downsized950910001156.jpgCollege life has so far been pretty fun. There are lots of things to do here, like workout, eat, chill with friends and even convenient shopping locations around the campus. So far living here has been fun and easy, but I expect college to get harder as the year goes on. So far I have made many friends, mostly on my floor in my dorm. They are all from different areas and I have learned a lot about different cultures and beliefs. College has already taught me to be more mature and I am finding out that being more mature will get me further in life. I have been trying to say hello to more people more often to get to know everyone. Wright State University is pretty big, compared to my hometown of roughly 6,000 this area is much more heartwarming. I like how everyone is nice and helpful. I never thought college here would be this fun but getting to know people and just learning about them has made me feel more at home. I miss some people back home and wish I was closer to home but I understand that an education is way more important. I am excited for the actual year to start rolling and learn about new things and to be guided in the right direction. There is not a lot of peer pressure here that I have noticed. I like not being pressured into drinking and drugs like I was in high school. College is a dramatic change and I think everyone should get to experience it even tho I have only been here for one week.
