The Last Supper Painting

In the Last Supper Painting, Jesus is in the painting with other people with wine and bread on the table.  Leonardo da Vinci painted it in the early 15th century, and the original painting is held in a church in Milan, Italy. The painting was painted on drywall and has deteriorated over the years. Some figures in the painting are not even recognizable anymore. The damage to the painting was tremendous and they went through a lot just to try and fix it. The restoration process took about 21 years to fix entirely. Most of the damage was caused by dirt, and pollution. The painting is believed to be Jesus and his 12 apostles. The problem was one of them had to be missing for Mary. Also the stories of the Holy Grail relate to this painting. The movie National Treasure, they use this painting and many other source full old important documents to figure out the Holy Grails code. The painting is very religious and believed to be very important to the Christian community. Jesus has a cup near him which is believed to be wine because Jesus had the power to turn water to wine and crumbs to loafs of bread. There is also rumor that the reason Leonardo da Vinci painted this picture was a gift to a duke, Duke Lodovico Sforza. Mathew 26 is also somehow tied in with this masterpiece, and he is basically frightening his disciples by telling them not to betray him.
